Since it's finally starting to look and feel like summer here in the U.P., the Manistique Farmer's Market is preparing to open for the season.
Next Wednesday, May 15, will be the opening day for the beginning of the third full season of the Manistique Farmer's Market. The market will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Little Bear West Arena.
Plenty of farmers and vendors will be there, with a variety of products and produce to choose from.
"We can expect all our regular farmers to be there with maple syrup and eggs and some early salad greens, and we've also got some new farmers this year," said Market Master, Kerry Ott.
In conjunction with the farmer's market, Manistique will be celebrating the community win of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Roadmaps to Health prize with a picnic and giveaways on the market's opening day.
