      Manistique man pleads no contest

The 49-year-old Manistique man facing charges of accosting a child and indecent exposure appeared in Schoolcraft County Circuit Court Thursday morning.

Daniel McDougle plead no contest to one count of attempted accosting a minor and one count of aggravated indecent exposure. Court officials say the incident happened in August of 2012 in Hiawatha Township.

In court his attorney explained why he's pleading no contest.

"He was on prescribed Hydrocodine, Valium, and Motrin 800 for a bad back, and he's sketchy on some of the facts, and so I suggested a no contest agreement would be appropriate," said John Filoramo, Defense Attorney.

McDougle's sentencing is set for December 5. He faces a maximum of six years in prison.
