The Democratic Candidate for Governor made a stop to chat with city leaders in Crystal Falls on Friday morning. Mark Schauer and his team talked about the issues over coffee as part of his campaign tour of the U.P. Schauer has been part of the Michigan State Legislature for 12 years and the U.S Congress for two years. Putting money back into public education and insourcing Michigan jobs are two major components of his platform.
"I've always been a fighter for the middle class and the middle class keeps shrinking and shrinking," Mark Schauer said. "I'm going to be a real advocate for communities here and for an economy here in the Upper Peninsula that puts more people to work."
Schauer will also be making stops in Ontonagon and Schoolcraft Counties while he is touring the U.P.
