The Marquette Board of Light and Power has received reports from customers regarding a phone scam in the area.
According to MBLP, customers have been receiving phone calls threatening to cut off their power in 30 minutes if arrangements are not made to make payments. They reportedly ask for credit card numbers, bank account information, or request that you set up a cash transfer.
These calls are coming from an out of area caller. Officials at MBLP are warning customers to not give out any financial information over the phone.
