Football fans from around the Midwest will now be made aware of U.P. tourist attractions thanks to some well placed advertising.
The Marquette Country Convention and Visitors Bureau recently had the opportunity to place advertisements for Marquette County in yearbooks for several NFL teams. The yearbooks will be around for a year, and each team can sell up to 400,000 copies. The full page ads will appear in Detroit, Green Bay and Minnesota, with half page ads appearing in Pittsburgh and Indianapolis.
"The people that buy these football tickets to go to these national games, pro games, they're the people that have the disposable income to travel and spend money. Those are the type of individuals that we're looking for to bring to Marquette," said Pat Black of the visitors bureau.
A similar deal for the bureau put a Marquette County ad in the program for the recent World Series.
