The Marquette Fireworks Committee has put together a new website to make it easier for people to donate to the annual Fourth of July show in Marquette.
They've partnered with 906 Technologies to create the website that allows you to make a donation with a credit card. The seven person committee says the show costs between $25,000 and $30,000 each year. They say this is just the first step in raising the funds for the show.
"The fireworks committee, newly formed, came together. The first part of the fundraising process is to get this website up--you go on it, it makes it very easy for people to donate. We feel that it's everybody's responsibility to help us raise the money to have fireworks for the community next year," said Pat Black of the Fireworks Committee.
The committee is looking into some new elements to the fireworks show, including music to accompany the show.
