The St. Vincent de Paul in Marquette invited over 600 families to join in their annual Christmas giveaway Thursday morning.
Year after year, the community rallies together to gather food and toys for other members of the community who are in need. This year, St. Vincent de Paul had some impressive numbers to describe the magnitude of the community's generosity. Volunteers were overwhelmed by the support and donations.
"It's amazing, I mean, today we were able to get over 10,000 gifts for the children. We have food for each family...a full Christmas lunch or dinner," says Stephanie Bordeaux.
There was over $25,000 worth of food donations provided by Super One Foods, Jilbert Dairy, Feeding America, community members, and more. Coming together as one truly is the reason for the holiday season.
