      MDOT holding third annual "Tell Us Your Story" promotion

      The Michigan Department of Transportation and the Mackinac Bridge Authority are hosting the "Tell Us Your Story" promotion Monday August 25 through Monday September 8.

      During the promotion period, MDOT is asking the public to share their memories of walking the Mackinac Bridge, from either this year or a previous year, on social media. One person sharing their memories will be randomly chosen for a tour of the top of the Mackinac Bridge for two. A gift pack of Pure Michigan merchandise, donated by the Michigan Economic Development Corp., including hats and t-shirts, will be given to the person who travels the furthest to walk the bridge and share their memories.

      You can post your story on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #MightMacWalk14, or post on MDOT's Facebook page. Your posts can include photos or videos.

      Last year, Rachel Baldwin from the Remus area was the winner of the bridge tour, and Lisa Hensel from Parker, Colorado won the Pure Michigan prize pack for traveling the furthest. You can see last year's bridge walk promotion stories at MDOT's Storify page.
