MDOT to shut down M-28 due to flooding

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced that M-28 in Wakefield will be shut down at 2 p.m. CT due to flooding.

Crews will be pumping water from Sunday Lake across the highway in order to keep water levels down and to keep US-2 open. A detour will take traffic on US-45 and M-28.

MDOT crews expect the closure to be in place for a few days.
