Approximately $250,000 is being put into County Road 59 in Gladstone this summer. This all-season route, commonly known as Mead Road, is used daily by logging trucks entering and leaving the paper mill.
According to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Office of Economic Development, the road is severely deteriorated. According to officials, the road also has inadequate shoulders and poor drainage.
$200,000 of the project will be coming from the state??s Transportation Economic Development Funds while the remaining $50,000 will be coming from the Delta County Road Commission.
