Men arrested in meth lab bust appears in court

Three men appeared in Alger County Circuit Court today in connection with a meth bust case that happened in February.

Fred Hunt, Keith Anderson and David Gumuski all appeared before a judge for a pre-trial hearing.

The men were arrested after a search warrant of a home on Superior Street in Munising uncovered an active methamphetamine lab. Hunt, who is charged with conspiracy to operate a meth lab, will stand trial July 28 and 29.

The judge denied Hunt bond, citing him to be a flight risk. Hunt has seven prior felonies, all in different states.

Both Anderson and Gumuski face felony charges of operating a meth lab and operating a meth lab near a school, residence or business.

The court will consolidate the two men's trials. Their trial date has not yet been set.
