      Menominee County crash takes life of Stephenson woman

      A two vehicle crash on M-35 in Menominee County claimed the life of a Stephenson woman Friday night. The Menominee Sheriff's Department reports that 50-year-old Jill Renee Anderson was killed when the pickup truck she was a passenger in collided with a mini van driven by 73-year-old Margaret Marion Winter of Marquette County.

      The Driver of the pickup truck was Jill's husband, 52-year-old Jeffrey David Anderson also of Stephenson. He suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to Bay Area Medical Center and later transferred to Green Bay Saint Vincent Hospital for evaluation and care and is listed in fair condition. Winter was also taken to Bay Area Medical Center and later transferred to Green Bay Saint Vincent Hospital where she is listed in fair condition.

      The collision happened on M-35 in Cedarville Township, south of County Road 551. It happened around 6:15 Friday evening. Roads were slick at the time, with a little covering of snow. Traffic was stopped on M-35 for close to four hours. A Michigan State Police accident reconstructionist was on the scene.
