Michigan Senate candidate coming back to the Upper Peninsula

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Gary Peters is planning a six-day campaign swing through the Upper Peninsula and other parts of northern Michigan. Peters is looking to fill Senator Carl Levin's seat this fall.

The third-term suburban Detroit congressman starts his "listening tour" in Escanaba on Thursday. Other stops include Iron Mountain, Marquette, Houghton, Hancock, Munising, St. Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie.

His last stop will be in Boyne City in northern lower Michigan on Tuesday.

Stops along the way include small businesses, an American Indian casino, and Michigan Technological University.

Peters said he's been traveling around the state since announcing his campaign last spring. It's his second tour of the U.P.
