The Midnight Run race wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. Bib Number 121 Jake Golton was the first to cross the finish line this morning close to 11 a.m.
This year teams took longer on the trails because of the recent snowfall. Mushers say the trails were soft and punchy.
Officials say mushers couldn't help the dogs so they stayed on the runners and used their ski poles.
It's just over ten hours which is fairly long for that run cause the snow. We got a big dump of snow Friday. And, that really slowed stuff down for us."
The last team crossed the finish line close 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
