      Mini golf in downtown Marquette?

The Marquette Downtown Development Authority has a new way to fit in some golf in downtown Marquette and support a good cause.

The event is being called the Downtown Spring Open Twisted Tee Off. Miniature golf courses will be set up at nine establishments in the downtown district.

Teams of four can compete for money and prizes and bragging rights. Proceeds from the event will go to the Janzen House.

"Spring has yet to really break through here in Marquette and this is a great way to kind of, if you're itching to get out on the golf course, this is the kind of way to buffer that and get out and participate and it also benefits a great cause," said Samantha Collins of the Marquette DDA.

The cost to participate is $25 per person and all members of your team must be over 21 years old. The Twisted Tee Off takes place April 24 in downtown Marquette.

Teams must register by April 18 and can do so by going to the Marquette DDA website.
