      Move In Day At NMU

Hundreds of new and returning students descended on Northern Michigan University on Thursday for the first official move in day. NMU faculty members and returning students were on hand to help incoming freshman with the big move. Wildcats On The Move is a new outreach program that has staff helping move anything from microwaves to futons into the students' dorm rooms. Several freshman said they are excited to be living on their own and experience all that college has to offer.

"Getting to know people and living by myself and kind of starting my own thing," Incoming Freshman Nicholas Potyok said. "I'm going to be in computer science classes so I'm excited to learn more about that because I didn't really take that many in high school so it's kind of a new experience."

New students will take part in freshman orientations before classes start. Classes at NMU begin on Monday, August 25th.
