The Michigan State Police are actively seeking trooper recruits and theyâ??re hoping to have 150 in their June school.
Over the past 10 years there was a lot of retirement and attrition, and the MSP is hoping to fill some of those empty positions. Minimum requirements are a high school diploma and they must be 21 years old by the end of recruit school. They are also actively looking for college graduates and military veterans. The U-P posts are hoping to see some local applicants.
â??We like to see people who have connections to the area that want to stay here and want to build a career and life here in the Upper Peninsula,â?? said Michigan State Police Gladstone Post Sgt. Jeremy Hauswirth.
