The Northern Michigan University (NMU) Orchestra performed music by a Norwegian composer and pianist named Edvard Grieg on Sunday.
As music filled the recital hall, audience members listened to every note.
The orchestra is made up of around 40 members consisting of NMU students as well members from the Marquette community.
"Music for a lot of people is like breathing. It's like something they need to do to practice and play with other people and play beautiful music. It sort of keeps their soul healthy," said Barbara Rhyneer, conductor.
NMU will offer a number of free concerts over the next few months.
