Musical tribute band coming to the Keweenaw

The Calumet Theatre will host the Blooze Brothers on Saturday night.

A historical part of the Copper Country is hosting a tribute to musical history this weekend. The Blooze Brothers are a tribute band from Chicago. They will be performing on Saturday night at 7:30 at the Calumet Theatre.

Laura Miller, the executive director of the theatre, said the show band covers many types of music for all ages to enjoy, including Swing, Motown, Soul, R & B and Classic Rock.

"A twelve-piece band behind them with a female vocalist, it's just going to be a great show. High energy, good music, a lot of fun," said Miller.

Tickets cost anywhere from $22 to $30. For more information, visit www.calumettheatre.com.

Before the show on Saturday, the Blooze Brothers will drive north on US-41 through the Copper Country in a 1974 Dodge Monaco Bluesmobile replica.

The Calumet Theatre is also raising money to build an elevator. There currently is no elevator in the theatre that was built in 1900. Visit their website to find out how to contribute.
