The names have been released in the Manistique attempted murder.
Fifty-eight year-old Thomas Becks Jr. was arraigned by video at Schoolcraft District Court Wednesday afternoon around 1:00 p.m.
Becks is facing attempted murder, a felony with a maximum sentence of life in prison. He is also facing assault with intent to do great bodily harm, a 10 year felony, and assault with a dangerous weapon, a four year felony.
The incident happened late Monday when the defendant supposedly slit the throat of 31-year-old Theresa Gorney.
Becks is next scheduled to appear in court on August 11.
