The Negaunee City Band struck up their summer season Wednesday.
The band is now in their 158th season.
The musicians range from teenagers to mid seventies, but all share the same passion.
During the summer, the Negaunee City Band performs every Wednesday night.
Shows begin at 7:30p.m. at the Negaunee Bandshell.
Band President Gerry Anderson says it's an honor to be a part of something so special.
"It started off as a lot of nationalities. An Italian band, a Finnish band. And eventually, they came together. They decided, 'maybe it's better if we join forces.' But it's a great organization. Lots of fun, we enjoy playing, the audiences are always very well attended," said Anderson.
Shows are free to the public.
