A part of the City of Negaunee is now recovering after a minor flood Wednesday morning.
About a dozen homes were affected around 2a.m.Wednesday, when a beaver dam in Lily Pond collapsed.
Nearby roadways and even a few basements were flooded with about two to three feet of water.
Now, the streets are filled with sand and debris, and the city is working to remedy the problem.
"We put some equalization tubes in the affected area and we put some riprap material across those tubes which stopped the amount of flow of water going into the Lombard neighborhood," said Jeff Thornton, Negaunee City Manager.
T he city plans to have the DEQ visit the area in the next couple of days to access the situation, and help with the next steps.
