Negaunee Township Emergency Services hosted their second annual National Night Out on Thursday night. The Negaunee Township Fire Department and EMS came out to meet and greet with the public and show people what they do. There were demonstrations on how to extinguish a fire, fire truck rides, and a smokehouse. The department says National Night Out is a fun way to get to know your neighbors.
"it's just kind of a throwback to times gone by where people really knew their neighbors well and know a little bit about your emergency services that are available to you in the community," Negaunee Township Paramedic Dennis Karuzas said.
Negaunee Township's National Night Out went from six until eight at the Negaunee Township Hall. The department estimated that over 300 people came out to enjoy some food and meet their neighbors.
