Marquette County Habitat for Humanity is welcoming a new executive director. Linda Frey wants to continue building new homes for those who need them, but also focus on rehabilitation and renovating existing properties. For the upcoming year, Frey said a main goal for the program is to gain more volunteers and collaborate within the community. One of the reasons Frey takes her role so seriously is because she says a safe home is more than just a roof over your head.
"To have a home is a level of security that's not to be underestimated," said Frey. "For the children, for the entire family, so we look at building these homes as a way to help people reach their full potential."
Before taking over at Habitat, Frey served as the executive director of the West Michigan Chapter of U.S. Green Building Council.
