Pet owners may be walking out with some very interesting pictures of their animals thanks to new technology at the Copper Country Veterinary Clinic.
The office recently began using digital X-ray technology. That means instead of producing X-rays through a chemical process, digital radiographs project the image. The end result is a quicker, more reliable X-ray that owners can even take home with them or e-mail out to other veterinarians.
"It was always really complicated to get those pictures to turn out just right," said DVM Ivy Barnhart. "This way we just take one picture and can make it lighter or darker with digital technology."
The Copper Country Veterinary Clinic held an open house Saturday to show off the new equipment. They also gave the public tours of the facility and held a meet and greet with some animals currently available for adoption, like a male kitten named Topher.
