The Marquette Senior High School bowling team is hoping the community will come strike in the New Year with them this Saturday night.
They're holding the second annual New Year's Eve party at Superior Lanes to fundraise for the team. It's just $15 a person for unlimited bowling, including shoes for the night. Half of the proceeds go right back to the team; currently they don't receive any funding from the school. They're hoping to raise enough money to send team members to the regional tournament in Bay City.
"If any of them wants to continue bowling in any kind of a bowling career whatsoever, these are the places (Bay City) they get seen," said Head Coach Hope Virch. "We practice here, too, do the same things the other kids do. It's important to us," said MSHS bowler, senior Zach Scott.
The party starts at 9 p.m. Saturday night. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (906) 225-9230.
