Newberry resident Rose Biber got an unexpected surprise in the mail: a picture from Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, with their new pride and joy, Prince George.
It was to thank her for sending them a blanket she made for the new member of the family.
â??I thought it was a bill,â?? admitted Biber. â??But then I saw Buckingham Palace on the letter.â??
Biber often knits handmade gifts for family, friends and strangers when she finds out they're having a baby. And when she heard the great news about the Duke and Duchess, that's just what she did. She knitted a blanket for the new baby that included â??the full name,â?? weight, and date of birth.
It took about a month to make. Then one month after mailing it, she received a picture with a thank you letter on the back. In it the Royal Couple said: â??The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were most touched by the thoughtful gift you so kindly sent on the occasion of the birth of their son, Prince George. Their Royal Highnesses have been overwhelmed by all the wonderful messages and gifts they have received and send you the warmest thanks and best wishes.â??
Biber said she will give the thank you photo to her own kids has a keepsake.
