      Nine year old hospitalized after bike accident

      As of Wednesday morning, a nine-year-old Ironwood girl is in stable condition and recovering from an accident Monday afternoon. She was riding her bike when she was struck by a motor vehicle. No names have been released.

      The girl is hospitalized in Duluth, Minn. She was riding her bike at the intersection of Cloverland Drive and Lake in Ironwood when she was hit by a vehicle at 12:01 p.m. on Monday. According to Ironwood Public Safety, the girl was crossing the highway when she was hit. Police say the vehicle had the green light, and girl on the bike crossed into oncoming traffic.

      She was transported to Aspirus Grand View Hospital and then airlifted to Duluth.
