NMU football player could face jail time

A member of the Northern Michigan University football team appeared in Marquette district court on Thursday morning charged with contempt of court.

Twenty-four-year-old Prince Young pled guilty earlier this year to one charge of assault and battery following an incident at Marquette's Vera Bar on January 27. The New Jersey native agreed to pay restitution and medical expenses for the injured victim.

However, Young has failed to pay and follow through with other court orders. Thursday, he pled guilty to being in contempt of court. The senior running back is the leading rusher for the Wildcats this season, playing in all five games.

Young could now face jail time for being in contempt of court.
