The female NMU student found deceased in her Woodland Park apartment Friday afternoon has been identified as 22-year-old Monica Matus of Chicago. Matus was an art and design-secondary education major and a film studies minor.
Although the body will undergo an autopsy Monday, no foul play is suspected, according to NMU Public Safety and Police Services.
The details of a memorial service are being planned and will be made available at a later date.

The identity of the NMU student found dead on Friday is still unknown as of Saturday morning. NMU spokesperson, Cindy Paavola, told TV6 & FOX UP, "There are no additional details at this time, and we are still in the process of trying to work with the family."

A female student has been found dead on the campus of Northern Michigan University. Her body was discovered Friday afternoon in her Woodland Park apartment.
