NMU student sentenced for vandalism spree

One of the two NMU students who went on a vandalism spree in Marquette last April was sentenced Friday.

Mitchell Skiba and Logan Beach entered guilty pleas to malicious destruction of property after vandalizing several homes.

Skiba was sentenced Friday, but the details were sealed under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act. Logan Beach is scheduled to be sentenced September 5.

The 19-year-olds broke the windows of Marquette residences on April 13. They also had misdemeanor charges for intoxication and being minors in possession.

Beach and Skiba have been ordered to pay restitution to the victims and the insurance companies.
