Mon, 28 Oct 2013 02:35:00 GMT — Northern Michigan University students made a difference Saturday. The NMU Volunteer Center's annual Make a Difference Day gives students an opportunity to give back to the community. Different groups of students went through Marquette, Negaunee, and Ishpeming, raking leaves and washing windows at the request of some residents. One group of about 20 students from NMU's American Graffiti House helped in Negaunee. "I think it's a great opportunity for students to be able to get out, help out in the neighborhood, and also it's a great way for them to log some volunteer hours and show some of their volunteerism," said NMU student Brent Larsen, R.A. for the American Graffiti House. The students even worked happily in the snow.
