      Numerous items stolen from South Range apartments

      The Houghton County Sheriff's Department is investigating the home invasion and larceny of two Range Town Apartments in South Range.

      Deputies said the two incidents happened on separate occasions and the tenants were out of town when the theft occured.

      According to officials, the suspect or suspects stole a 60-inch Vizio brand flat screen TV, a Samsung sound box with a sub woofer, silver coins, numerous Craftsman tools which included ratchets and sockets, wrenches, Craftsman cordless drill, sawzall, Craftsman impact driver, two 19.2 volt batteries and charger for Craftsman cordless tools, Superior National Bank blank checks, RCA surround sound and a large three tier red in color rolling Craftsman tool box.

      Items taken from the other apartment include around $3,500 in cash and the small blue fire proof safe the money was located in. Four Zippo sliver lighters in a four box set, and a silver wolf bracelet with a diamond on it.

      Bank checks from Superior National Bank and TCF Bank were also taken. The sheriff's department said the truck title for a 2002 Kia, the title for a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Van were also stolen.
