Marquette residents took a walk downtown for the annual October Art Stroll.
Discover Downtown Marquette and the Third Street Village Association held a self-guided art tour down Washington and Third Streets. Participants picked up a brochure from a business and followed a map to all the businesses that participated. Musicians provided a pleasant backdrop for those taking the art stroll. The stroll gives artists and musicians, especially those just starting out, a way to gain some exposure.
"It's great that the community can get people involved like this, but it is my first gig, like I said. I haven't really shown anyone my art before, so I do feel kind of nervous, but I'm just glad to be a part of it," said local artist, Joshua Jayde.
In addition to specials and sales, participants could register to win a gift basket from participating businesses valued at $1,200.
