The officer involved in a personal injury crash on June 20 has been ticketed.
Chocolay Township Officer Anthony Carrick was transferring a juvenile runaway when he pulled into the path of an oncoming car on U.S. 41. That car, which was driven by 24-year-old Andrew Mills of Marquette, then crossed the center line, striking a third vehicle, which then struck a fourth heading south on U.S. 41.
Mills and the juvenile suffered minor injuries from the accident.
According to the Marquette Police Department, after thorough review of the accident, investigators concluded that Officer Carrick failed to yield to oncoming traffic as he entered U.S. 41 from South Lake St. He has been issued a Civil Infraction citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way.
