Thu, 05 Sep 2013 20:05:25 GMT — The Marquette Police Department and Marquette County Sheriff's Office had some underwater training Thursday. The focus was on lift training. They used lift bags to try and raise an environmentally friendly pick up truck from under Johnson Lake in Gwinn. They spent the morning and afternoon raising it from various positions. Officials say that teamwork is an important part of the training. "Any time we can put the divers in the water, especially doing technical tasks like this using the lift bags and using an actual vehicle, gives them hands-on," said Captain David Lemire of the Marquette County Sheriff's Office. The joint exercise is something they try and do at least once a year.
