      Officials seeking assistance in suspicious cabin fire

      Mackinac County Sheriff's Office deputies along with the Michigan State Police Fire Investigators Office are investigating a suspicious cabin fire.

      The cabin and the items within were a complete loss of property. The cabin was located in Newton Township, near the Village of Gould City on the Pike Lake Grade. Reports indicate the fire occurred sometime between August 9 and August 18.

      Other property related crimes were reported in the area near the arson scene which law enforcement believes might be related to the case. Officials ask that if anyone has any information that might help in solving this case, they contact them.

      There is a possible cash reward of up to $5,000 being offered by the Arson Prevention Committee for anyone who comes forward with information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspect or suspects.
