One local auto parts store works to raise money for injured veterans

People were out in support of our nation's heroes in Sands Township Saturday afternoon. The weekly races were held Saturday at Sands Speedway, but there was a different feel this week. Proceeds from the races went to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. NAPA Auto Parts in Marquette sponsored the races in an effort to support service men and women that were injured during their time of service.

"All the funding goes toward troops that come back, that have been injured to buy prosthetics, to buy anything from casting to any type of medical care," said Ryan Bruns, owner of the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Marquette.

While the support of the fund is happening locally, the group is supported nationally by NAPA. This is the third year that NAPA store in Marquette has sponsored the races at Sands to support the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
