The Superior Health Foundation hosted an Upper Peninsula Children's Oral Health Summit in Marquette Saturday.
Dental experts met and primarily discussed ideas of how to get children in the U.P. better access to dental care. They say that the region and the State of Michigan itself is in sore need of help in that regard.
"There's a lot of untreated dental decay in the U.P. in general. One of the... as far as the State of Michigan goes, we're one of the highest regions of untreated dental decay, in children especially." said dentist Brian Anderson.
The Superior Health Foundation will be committing grant funding in fall 2014 to help with this issue.
