The 15th annual Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic kicked off with over 2500 bikers who participated in many of Saturday's races. The highlight for some featured the Hard Rock Race, a 48 mile course that stretched from Negaunee all the way to Marquette. Compared to last year, the course this year was particularly dry which made the trail extra dusty making some spots hard to see.
Bikers went through several stretches of road. Volunteers, like the Ishpeming Kiwanis Club, offered drinks to the cyclists and a change in recent years brings riders along the new County Road 510.
At the finish, it was back-to-back champion Cole House besting 2011 champion Brian Motter in a time of 2 hours 28 minutes and 23 seconds. This is the third year in a row that House has taken first place. For full results, click here.
