A new health care collaboration is coming to Escanaba as OSF St. Francis has now become the newest member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
The hospital announced Friday afternoon that they are joining hands with the prestigious Rochester, Minnesota medical network. This is a joint effort to improve patient care by making it possible to get a second opinion without leaving Upper Michigan.
"Mayo Clinic Care Network is a collaboration with OSF to get access to Mayo Clinic specialists for our patients and to get access to their knowledge base, to their evidence, their research, and to provide education to our physicians throughout OSF healthcare system," said David Lord, President and CEO.
The two will be working together to use the latest technology for improvements and to share resources. OSF Saint Francis made it clear this is not a merger or an acquisition. It is simply a collaboration to improve patient care.
