With the honorable Glenn Pearson retiring, Delta Countyâ??s prosecuting attorney Steve Parks is running for district court judge. He has 20 years of experience in private practice, and has been the prosecuting attorney for nearly 10.
If elected, Parks plans on focusing on repeat offenders and probation violators. He also hopes to address the growing drug issue in Delta County.
At 59, Parks feels it is both his age and his 30 years of legal experience that have prepared him for this position.
â??I raised two children through high school, have been married 23 years,â?? said Parks. â??I think all those experiences make me a very good candidate. I think I would bring to the bench the wisdom you would hope for for someone whoâ??s serving as judge.â??
Primary elections are taking place August 5, with general elections following on November 4.
