The Marinette County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of a downed aircraft near Crivitz on Tuesday.
According to the sheriff's department, the call came in around 11:18 a.m. that a small plane had crashed in a farm field. Police were able to locate the pilot, 66-year-old Daniel J. McGraw of Lena, Wisconsin, near the scene of the crash.
According to police, he was conscious and alert but complained of back pain. He was taken to Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette to be treated for injuries.
The sheriff's department believes the plane was traveling to Iron Mountain when engine problems developed. Aviation authorities have been notified and the scene has been secured by the sheriff's department.
