Officials expect a plea bargain to be made in the case of a Palmer man charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct.
According to the Marquette County Circuit Court, the trial of 38-year-old Ronnie Edward Smith has been postponed. The trial was supposed to take place on August 11, but attorneys are working on a plea bargain. Smith is expected to enter the plea sometime in the last week of August, though nothing official has been scheduled at this time.
Smith is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree on a victim under the age of 13 and one count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct involving a girl between the ages of 13 and 17.
