      Police arrest man after 146 mile per hour chase

      One man is behind bars after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase through Florence, Iron, and Alpha on Friday around 7:48 p.m.Police said the man was traveling north on CTH N when a Florence County deputy clocked a vehicle going 75 in a 55 mph zone. As the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the man sped away, reaching more than 120 miles per hour.Police said a second Florence County car entered in the pursuit and the suspect continued into Iron County where speeds reached 146 miles per hour.An Iron County Sheriff's deputy joined the pursuit as one Florence unit discontinued at that point.Officials said the Michigan State Police used stop stick devices south of Crystal Falls, but the vehicle turned on County Road 424 near Alpha, Michigan.The driver of the vehicle then stopped voluntarily, and a man was taken into custody.The high speed chase was 16 miles long and lasted 8 minutes. No injuries or damages were reported.
