      Police find elderly woman who never boarded her flight

      UPDATE: Marquette County Sheriff's Office reports that this missing woman has now been found. Information received via social media led to a sighting confirmation in Marquette after she left the airport. The woman was located at approximately 9:45 a.m. in Marquette. She was said to be in good health and not in any danger.

      The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Marquette City Police and Forsyth Township Police Department


      T he public is being asked to help find a woman who apparently walked away Wednesday morning and is now considered a missing person.

      The Marquette County Central Dispatch reports the 70 year-old Asian female was last seen at Sawyer International Airport at 5:00 a.m.. She did not board her plane because her passport was expired. She instead walked away from the terminal in an unknown direction.

      The woman is described as having white/gray hair, 5 feet tall, heavyset, wearing blue jeans and a long floral print jacket. She was carrying two suitcases.

      As the Marquette County Sheriff's Department and Forsyth Township Police continue their investigation, anyone who has seen this woman is asked to contact Central Dispatch at (906)475-9912.
