      Police identify teenager pulled from water

      U.S. Coast Guard helicopter searches for missing teen

      The identity of the 13-year-old boy that drown near Escanaba on Wednesday has been confirmed as Johnathan Whitehouse.

      According to Escanaba Public Safety, Whitehouse was discovered in the water at around 9:15 after an intense search by local authorities, including a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter.

      Police were notified of the teen's disappearance at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Officials were called to the Ludington Park Marina beach to look for Whitehouse.

      Crews searched for nearly four hours before discovering his body in the water.

      Whitehouse was a resident of Escanaba.
