Police: K9 unit leads to drug bust

Two Kalamazoo residents were taken into custody on Sunday after being pulled over near Menominee.

According to the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, over two pounds of marijuana was discovered in the vehicle, packaged and ready for sale. Police say that Michigan State Police dog Boris alerted officers to the vehicle after a traffic stop.

Police say that the driver and two passengers were traveling from Kalamazoo to Grand Marais. The driver and one passenger were taken to the Menominee County Jail. The driver was lodged on possession with intent to deliver charges, while the passenger is being held on possession of marijuana charges. No names are being released at this time.
