The Iron Mountain State Police Post has received some local grants to purchase needed equipment, funded by area businesses and companies.
UPPCO, MJ Electric, and Shopko provided the Iron Mountain State Police with grants to purchase crime scene camera kits, as well as critical aid kits. The troopers say they are very pleased to receive the equipment.
"The grants provide photographic equipment for our crime scene technicians," said Trooper Douglas Cole. "This will assist them at the scenes of crimes gathering evidence that is crucial to prosecution in criminal cases."
Trooper Cole added that the critical aid kits are similar to those used in the U.S. military during combat. The post is very grateful to the area businesses that provided the grants.
