A Michigan State Police car has been heavily damaged after being struck by a front-end loader in Houghton County.
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon on US-41 in Houghton County's Franklin Township. The trooper was responding to a domestic assault complaint with emergency lights and sirens activated.
As the trooper tried to pass, the driver of the front-end loader attempted to turn left and struck the passenger side of the patrol car, sending it spinning into a snow bank.
Neither driver was injured in the crash. The driver of the front-end loader was cited for failure to yield when overtaken.
The Michigan State Police are reminding drivers to be aware of their surroundings and to yield to emergency vehicles by pulling over to the shoulder of the road in a cautious manner.
